Hello! We’re Laura and Lucy, the faces behind Salt Dog Studios.

Salt Dog Studios began back in 2012. We were two sisters with a dream: to bring beautiful and unique dog products to the market and create the collars, leads and harnesses we wanted for our own dogs, designs that simply weren’t available then.

At the time, we had three dogs between us , Lexi, Ebony and Maddie, who inspired the original “Salt Dogs”. Sadly, Maddie is now the last remaining original, enjoying life at the grand age of 14!

We started small, at our mum and dad’s kitchen table, with just a sewing machine, some fabric and a shared vision. As word spread, our designs grew in popularity, and we soon moved into a studio here in Whitstable.

Today, Salt Dog Studios creates two main ranges: our fun and unique fabric collection and our eco-friendly organic hemp collection, making us one of the UK’s leading suppliers of stylish, sustainable dog collars, leads and accessories.

Everything is still designed in-house by us, every pattern and design is drawn by hand, so you won’t find our products anywhere else.

We live in lovely Whitstable, close to our mum (an integral part of the business!). We juggle motherhood and business life with the help of our kids, cats and dogs, and, of course, our mum’s dog, Florrie, who often models our designs!

After nearly 14 years, we still have the same passion for Salt Dog Studios as the day we began, and we hope you love our products as much as we love creating them.
